2016 Community Service

The Virginia Home for Boys and Girls (VHBG) is a comprehensive child and family service agency that was founded in 1846 as the Richmond Male Orphan Society. The gymnasium building which was built in 1981 is the center of the athletic and fitness activities for the youth at VHBG. The facility is in need of upgrade and renovations to provide both athletic facilities and a multi-use space that can be leveraged in a variety of ways for many years. VHBG is in the process of a fundraising campaign and wants to incorporate the renovation of this gym facility into this campaign.

Austin Brockenbrough & Associates is evaluating the facility to determine the extent of repairs and upgrades needed to bring the facility up to current standards. The firm is also assisting with the programming effort to determine how the building can be renovated to best serve the multiple needs of VHBG.

We are very proud to be teamed with VHGB, and we fully support their mission to provide Virginia’s children and families with an opportunity to build safe and supportive relationships, find hope and healing, learn, grow, and build thriving communities.
“Because Family is Everything.”
