We are currently seeking a qualified CAD Designer who is self-motivated and ready to contribute to the future success of Brockenbrough.

 

We want the candidate for CAD Designer to become an integral part of our team!

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Take field measurements and notes to document existing facilities.
  • Prepare accurate, well-organized and detailed CAD drawings from field measurements and notes.
  • Develop construction drawing CAD sets from simple instructions demonstrating a broad knowledge of design and construction.
  • Perform basic layout and design under the direction and supervision of an engineer or architect.
  • Actively participate in the development, implementation and enforcement of CAD file management, standards, and criteria.
  • Capable of working on mechanical, electrical, and structural drawings with some capacity to do civil and architectural as well.
  • Able to meet project budgets, schedules, and performance criteria in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel regularly to project sites and client locations is a requirement.  Some travel may be international.

 

Qualifications

  • Associate degree from a technical school.
  • Autodesk certification.
  • Knowledge of engineering and architecture design principles and construction methods.
  • Three years of experience working with CAD in an engineering or architecture practice.
  • The majority of work requiring overseas travel will be for the U.S. Department of Defense on U.S. installations; therefore, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Advanced experience with AutoCAD and Revit, plus some experience with Civil 3D.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and personal computer skills.
