2012 VTCA Transportation Engineering Award

Landscape Improvements North Main Street Phase II in Blacksburg Virginia received the 2012 VTCA Transportation Engineering Award. This project included landscape improvements on North Main Street extending from College Avenue to a proposed Roundabout at Prices Fork Road. The improvements were similar to the improvements made to the adjacent section of North Main Street, including pavement materials and patterns as well as landscape treatment (species and varieties) and site furniture. The landscape improvements included application of the above elements from the street curb to the right-of-way line or face of building, as appropriate. The design was carefully coordinated with the street lighting and electrical plans. Brockenbrough’s team, Carrie Langelotti, Stan Tatum and Bob Ducey, worked closely with RK&K to complete this successful project.
