Site Development

Brockenbrough provides planning and design services to support site development projects for our governmental and commercial clients.  Our experienced engineers help guide clients through complex projects involving planning, zoning, and permitting.  Our design expertise includes survey, grading plans, stormwater management, parking and roadway design, and utilities.

Site development has been an area of expertise at Brockenbrough since the firm’s founding in 1955.  Our professionals are experienced on a wide range of project types, from new sites to major facility expansions.  Brockenbrough’s civil engineering team brings a unique knowledge base together to deliver cost effective and functional sites to our clients.

Brockenbrough has the experience and certifications to solve your drainage and stormwater management challenges.  The civil engineering team routinely completes projects that must comply with the Clean Water Act, the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) Section 438, and the Virginia Stormwater Management Act.  These professionals are certified as Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Management Plan Reviewers through the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.  Whether a client needs to upgrade an entrance culvert or implement a full scale stormwater management program, the Brockenbrough team can creatively implement a practical solution.

Evaluating the feasibility of a project can be one of the most daunting tasks in a development lifecycle.  Preparing due diligence studies and developing potential alternatives has become a specialty at Brockenbrough.  Is this the right site? Is it appropriately entitled? What challenges does a particular location present?  What constraints are present?   Brockenbrough helps clients wade through the challenges of developing a project by providing concise reports and alternatives that clearly identify project viability.
