Stormwater Advisory Committee

Dave Warriner, PE, an Associate with Brockenbrough, is currently serving on the Chesterfield Stormwater Management Advisory Committee. This committee consists of approximately 25 – 30 individuals from both the public and private sector working together to assist the Chesterfield Environmental Engineering Department in determining the best way to comply with Chesterfield County’s MS4 permit. The MS4 permit from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) covers all stormwater conveyance systems and the corresponding pollutants in the runoff. Chesterfield has to reduce these stormwater pollutants in phases over the next 20 years in order to comply with the permit. The committee is discussing the best ways to comply with this new regulation via a combination of policy and practices to achieve water quality and the appropriate way to share the cost of compliance.
