Brockenbrough Continues to Grow

Sarah Bettinger, PE has joined Brockenbrough as a Structural Engineer. Sarah has five years of experience in structural consulting and building design and has worked on projects throughout the Southeast and Midwest. She has Bachelor’s degrees in Physics and Civil Engineering from Rhodes College and Missouri S&T and a Master’s in Structural Engineering from University of Alabama – Birmingham.  Sarah will be working to provide structural engineering support to both Brockenbrough’s fuels group and to the buildings group. On the personal side, Sarah is a Master Gardener and is active in the leadership of her local community garden. She also enjoys traveling and exploring new places.

Beth Rappaport, RA has joined our firm as an Architect.   Beth has over 30 years of experience in commercial building design, project management and construction administration, primarily with public-sector projects.  Beth worked for many years with Rawlings Wilson & Associates, during that time she coordinated with Brockenbrough on several state projects.  She served for the past five years as a project manager in government capital outlay departments, first with the City of Richmond and then in the same role with VDOT.  She has a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Virginia, is a registered architect and LEED Accredited Professional.  She is excited about working for Brockenbrough in an architectural capacity on institutional and government projects.  On the personal side, Beth enjoys reading and traveling, exploring new places with her husband and sometimes bringing along their trailer-camper and two dogs for the ride.

Chelsea Smith has joined Brockenbrough as a CAD Designer. Chelsea has five years of drafting and design experience with underground natural gas distribution. She has an Associate’s Degree in Drafting and Design from ITT Technical Institute. Chelsea is enthusiastic about furthering her education in engineering and professionally growing at Brockenbough. In her free time, Chelsea enjoys a quiet and quaint life with her husband and two beautiful young daughters, going for walks, reading and writing, and building blocks with her girls as well as furniture with her husband.
