Robert Hopkins Celebrates 35 Years

35 years is a very long time but contributing 35 years of continuous service to one company is almost unimaginable in today’s society.  Congratulations to Robert Hopkins, better known as Hop to anyone who has met him, for accomplishing this remarkable distinction!  He is our longest serving full-time employee.

With such a long tenure, Hop has seen and done it all.  He started on the boards in 1985 using a lead holder on mylar with a T-square.  Since then he has adjusted to every new technological advancement.  He now oversees the implementation of all of our CAD software while working with the IT department to keep everything running smoothly.  He is our Autodesk guru who knows how put a set of construction drawings together as well as what color the National CAD Standard says to use.

When asked about his time at Brockenbrough, Hop noted that he had “served 35 years with a great leadership team and co-workers……I bleed blue!”  Which is absolutely true because he demonstrates our core values of ‘Integrity’ and ‘Can Do Attitude’ every single day.

When not working, Hop has found time to be happily married for 28 years to a wonderful wife and is the proud father of two beautiful daughters ages 21 and 25.  He also has been a part of the RVA running community for more than 30 years as a runner and volunteer.
