2020 New Hires

We welcome Steffen, Gage, Shane and Peyton to the Brockenbrough family.

Steffen Schilstra joined Brockenbrough as our first new employee of 2020, as well as our newest EIT.  Steffen comes to us from Tindall Corporation in Petersburg, VA where he worked as a design engineer.  Steffen has a BS in civil engineering from North Carolina State University and currently lives in downtown Richmond.  He is from Northern Virginia, is a dual citizen (US and The Netherlands), and lived in Belgium for 10 years.

Gage Bradley had the pleasure of starting right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic this summer.  He is working in the Buildings group as an electrical designer.  Gage is a native of Chesterfield County where he participated in the engineering program at LC Bird High School.  He graduated from Old Dominion University with a BS in electrical engineering.  During his time at Old Dominion, Gage interned at both Wilton Construction Services and the Naval Facilities Engineering Command in Norfolk, one of the Fuels Infrastructure group’s primary clients.

A more recent addition to Brockenbrough, Shane McNamara is the newest member of the Fuels Infrastructure group.  Shane comes to us direct from VCU, where he received a BS degree in mechanical engineering.  Shane also has a degree in business administration from the University of Richmond and is currently serving as a First Lieutenant in the Virginia Army National Guard.  Before attending VCU,  Shane lived and worked in both Manhattan and Brazil with a job in international/technical sales.  Shane was born in Rockaway Beach, NY and raised in Stroudsburg, PA.  He currently lives in Richmond.

Lastly, Peyton Martin has started in the Buildings group as the Mechanical Engineering Lead for HVAC/Plumbing.  Peyton has a BS in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech and is a registered professional engineer In the Commonwealth of Virginia.  Peyton has been involved with the HVAC industry in the Richmond area for many years in various roles with construction, equipment sales, and design firms.  He was most recently with Dunlap & Partners Engineers.  Peyton is married with three children, and he wishes he could work on his golf game more.
