This position will provide the opportunity to work on a variety of design projects.  The projects are centered on systems that receive, store, and issue refined petroleum (fuel) products at military and commercial facilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design, inspection, and planning services of systems and their pumps, piping, storage tanks, filtration systems, as well as sophisticated flow and pressure control systems, hydraulic analyses, piping stress and pipe support design analyses, and water hammer (surge) analyses.
• Determine the client’s need and produce solutions which are within their scope and budget.
• Work alongside other professionals in various disciplines in the development of designs.
• Produce Construction Document Packages including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, calculations and Basis of Design for mechanical pumping and piping systems.
• Perform construction phase services such as submittal review and approval, respond to contractor requests for information (RFIs), conduct site investigation visits, etc.
• Perform site assessments and develop detailed reports with recommendations and cost estimates
• Take field measurements and notes to document existing facilities.
• Prepare accurate, well-organized, and detailed CAD drawings from field measurements and notes.
• Able to meet project budgets, schedules, and performance criteria in a fast-paced environment.
• Actively participate in the development, implementation and enforcement of standards, and criteria.
• Possess an outgoing and positive attitude, and take personal pride in producing high quality and on-time designs for our clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) or the ability to take the test is required.
• Most of this work will be for the U.S. Department of Defense on U.S. installations; therefore, U.S. citizenship is required.
• Minimum of 1-5 years of experience working in an engineering practice on mechanical systems.
• Travel, including some overseas to friendly countries, is required. A current passport or the ability to obtain a passport is required.
• Knowledge of engineering design principles and construction methods related to mechanical, pumps, and piping systems.
• Advanced experience with AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office products.
• Strong problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and personal computer skills.
• Strong management skills and a desire to grow professionally.
