Battleview Technology Center Renovations, Northern Virginia Community College

About This Project

Brockenbrough provided full architectural and engineering services for several renovation projects at the Battleview Technology Center on the Manassas Campus. The former office building was converted to classroom, lab and support space.

The NOVA Fab Lab on the first floor is a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide students with training in STEM fields. The classrooms contain special equipment to teach electronics, mechatronics and pneumatics. The space also contains a woodshop, a fabrication lab, a lounge and collaboration spaces for students and faculty.

In the renovation of the two-story atrium lobby of the Battleview Technology Center, Brockenbrough designed a free-standing elevator shaft containing a hydraulic passenger elevator. Also included in this project were new finishes and custom designed stainless-steel railings for the second level balconies and the curving lobby staircase.
