Central Materials Lab Boiler Replacement, Henrico

About This Project

When the boiler at the Central Materials Lab in Sandston needed to be replaced, the Virginia Department of Transportation turned to Brockenbrough.  The aging fire-tube boiler was replaced with two modular boilers.  Each modular boiler was sized for two-thirds of the building heating load to provide spare capacity and so that in case of failure or if a boiler was offline for maintenance, some heating capacity would be available.

To complete the project, the pumps, air separator and expansion tank were replaced.
