Austin Brockenbrough & Associates, LLC, a Stratus Team company based in Richmond, Virginia, is a renowned multi-disciplinary engineering and architectural firm.

We are currently seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer who is self-motivated and ready to contribute to the future success of Brockenbrough.

This position provides the opportunity to work on a wide variety of design and assessment projects. Projects will range from state or local entities and higher education clients to military clients anywhere around the world. Opportunities to travel around the state, country, and world is an exciting perk of the position.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive structural design, inspection, and planning across diverse projects.
  • Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams to create integrated design solutions.
  • Generate thorough Construction Document Packages, encompassing detailed drawings, specifications, accurate cost estimates, and essential calculations.
  • Undertake rigorous site assessments, crafting in-depth reports that include strategic recommendations and precise cost estimates.
  • Diligently record field measurements and observations to inform and validate design processes.
  • Create precise, well-structured CAD drawings based on detailed field data.
  • Exhibit a proactive, positive attitude, demonstrating a commitment to delivering exceptional quality and timely services to clients.

 

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis from an accredited institution
  • Eligible to work on U.S. Department of Defense projects, necessitating U.S. citizenship.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit, with solid experience in utilizing Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with RISA 3D is advantageous, adding value to the candidate’s profile.
  • Experienced in designing with a variety of materials including concrete, steel, masonry, and wood, is desirable.
  • Demonstrates excellent problem-solving capabilities, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communicator, able to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely, backed by competent computer skills.
