SURVEYOR

This position will provide the opportunity to work in a team environment as a member of a survey crew as well as independently, utilizing robotic instrumentation and Global Positioning Systems.  The projects will involve conducting topographic, boundary, ALTA/NSPS surveys and construction layout and calculations.  Projects may take place in various locations around the world.  This field position offers a guaranteed 40 hour work week.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of TOPCON data collectors, total stations, Robotics and GPS equipment
  • Proficient with Civil/Survey software
  • Daily uploading and downloading of field software
  • Cleaning and charging a field equipment
  • Obtain knowledge of company’s coding and description techniques
  • Knowledge of procedures for conducting research for deeds and plats
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, plats, deeds and field notes
  • Ability to perform basic survey and mathematical calculations and coordinate geometry
  • Willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures regarding field methodology

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the survey field
  • Possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Possess a current passport or ability to obtain one
  • Must be able to pass a background check for working on federal government installations
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Desire to grow professionally
