Austin Brockenbrough & Associates, LLC is a multi-discipline architecture and engineering firm located in Richmond, Virginia. Brockenbrough provides architecture; civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering; and surveying services. Brockenbrough has term contracts with several federal, state, and local clients and serves many private clients.

 

 

We are seeking a qualified Project Architect who is self-motivated and ready to contribute to the future success of Brockenbrough.

 

This position will provide the opportunity to work on a variety of design projects. The projects may include design projects at state or local parks to higher education facilities or even military facilities worldwide.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Producing Construction Documents including drawings and specifications in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines in design development.
  • Determining the clients’ needs and producing the solutions which are within their scope and budget.
  • Performing construction phase services such as submittal review and approval, responding to contractor requests for information (RFI’s), conducting site observation visits, etc.
  • Performing site assessments and developing detailed reports with recommendations and cost estimates.
  • Meeting project budgets, schedules, and performance criteria in a fast-paced environment. Ultimately, we would envision the candidate growing into the role of managing architectural projects.
  • Possessing an outgoing and positive attitude and taking personal pride in producing high-quality and on-time designs for our clients.
  • A portion of this work will be for the U. S. Department of Defense on U. S. installations; therefore, U. S. citizenship is required.
  • Travel within the state is required. Ability to travel nationally or internationally is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited university
  • Licensed Architect, or near licensure, with 5+ years of experience working under the supervision of a licensed Architect.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD; Revit experience is a plus.
  • Current U.S. Passport or ability to obtain passport
  • Current portfolio of designing new and renovated government facilities is highly desired
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, attention to detail, and highly organized. Self-starter, able to work independently, and able to multi-task.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • An interest and ability to grow professionally with our business while working under the supervision of licensed architects is critical.
